Preschool Assessment Measures: What Are Teachers Using?Department of Special Education at The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa
Colonel Wolfe School, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign In this investigation, 105 preschool special education teachers were surveyed to determine: (a) which assessment instruments they used, (b) why they had chosen those assessment instruments, and (c) what factors they considered important in the choice of an assessment instrument. Most respondents indicated that they used more than one. The most frequently cited rationale for the choice was that the test was already in use. Ratings of 30 test characteristics Indicated that test scope and ease of use were the most important factors involved in the choice of an assessment instrument.
